The holidays are over and now we were looking for something different to try from my Grandma’s cookbook! Pudge and the pals decided to go out of their way to try something new from an old tried and true family recipe! We decided on an interesting dish named Turkish Rice!
So here we go. It’s a very easy recipe and does not cost a lot to make, just some of your time!
1/2 Cup Brown Rice
1 Tablespoon of butter
Cook in 2 cups of water
Add 1 cup of tomatoes ( you can also add fresh veggies from your garden in season too!)
Wash the rice. Brown in butter until a light brown. Then cook in boiling water until tender. When the water has boiled off of it, add tomatoes, salt and a little pepper. Serve half of it just with tomatoes and the other half left in the stewer add 1/2 teaspoon of cheese to it.
Wallah! You have a very yummy side dish or even a main dish. Add some veggies and you have a tasty and healthy meal. You can substitute light olive oil in place of the butter to reduce the fat content and not compromise taste!
